Weight Loss Companies Booming as Dieters Seek to Cut Pandemic Gains

It's no secret that health/fitness tech saw a huge influx of clients looking for alternative workout solutions, instead of paying for another unused month at the local big-box gym.    Private corporations like Noom that sell nutrition plans on its app beginning at $59 a month are prospering from the extra poundage gained by the average American.

It's no secret that health/fitness tech saw a hige influx of clients looking for alternative workout solutions, instead of paying for another unused month at the local big-box gym.    Private corporations like Noom that sell nutrition plans on its app beginning at $59 a month are prospering from the extra poundage gained by the average American.

Noom app was one of the most downloaded health and fitness apps being downloaded over 4 million times last year in the states.  WW International, aka Weight Watchers, reported 4.2 million digital subscribers, a 16 percent jump year over year.

Clearly, demand is there for virtual health coaching and online health options, however, the real question is whether these companies can produce lasting results for their clients.  Or is this a wave people are riding for the short term?
